I got a lot out of reading William Zinsser’s On Writing Well, and D. McCloskey’s Rhetoric
of Economics. I also found Glenn Ellison’s “The slowdown of the economics publishing
process” in the JPE useful for thinking about how papers should be structured (and refereed
and edited, but that’s another story)

Back! It's important to keep memos and it's a great habit. Esp so in retrospective.
Still there is this awkwardness of talking to air. The best way would be to keep all entries private.
Otherwise it's like a public monologue :(
ps. prayed out loud yesterday before falling asleep, and glad that I did, moreover I'm glad that I felt compelled to do so. There aren't enough ways to express and explore this connection that is ultimately a shortcut to yourself. It shows that my mind faces the right direction.

Interessanterweise hat der Islam, gerade weil er weniger aufs Wort fixiert ist, auch weniger Bilder hervorgebracht. Er verstand es, schon sehr früh mit jenen Abstraktionen zu leben, die in Europa erst mit der Moderne auftraten und heute die Kunst durchziehen.

If you look at life from a REALLY realistic light, it's a wonder that not more people kill themselves.

I mean, where's the hope?

The existentialists, and most other philosophers, peered into the abyss for that reason.
We know from their accounts that it is dark down there.

Ambition kills itself if the motor itself is ambition. It is unsustainable.

But in the darkest dark we need to open our eyes to reality and see the light.
We have the responsibility to let life be life for all its bleakness!!!!!
From then all begins, yet it's all we gotta do.
Problems pale in the face of death.
We need somebody on our side who is stronger than death
and vouches for our lives with his own.
